Enablers

Quilters of all sorts, whether traditional, contemporary or art, will all agree. We are a group of enablers. Some are subtle, others, like my dear friend Joy and myself, are not. We are expert and finding the coolest fabrics, the tempting new tool or toy. We enable others to spend dollars…to collect as only fabriholics can do.

Joy, my hubby Steve and I went on a road trip a few weeks ago to Missouri Star Quilting Company. This place almost takes over the downtown area of Hamilton, MO with a total of 11 shops currently. Each of their storefronts are thematic with groups of fabrics such as batiks, modern & primitives. The even have a Man Place with recliners and sports TV for the guys not interested in sewing. Steve was perfectly happy to chill until the local brewery opened, then walked on over for a flight to taste their wares.

And Joy enabled.

And I enabled.

By the end of the day, we’d stopped to put our goodies in the car twice.

It was great to shop and spend time with a good friend.

  1. Deanna. I was trying to. Get in touch with you because I am once again program chairman for the silver needles quilt guild and I wondered if you were still doing beading workshops
