I’m a winter child, playing in snow all my life. I love the quietness of snow falling and the crunch my boots make when I walk across the yard. The peace at night after snowfall. Then back to the house. A fire crackles in the fireplace. Chili. Hot chocolate with loads of marshmallows. Lots of covers on the bed.
I’m working on a piece called, “Winter’s Night.” It is a small quilt created from the scraps of another piece for a Quilting Arts calendar several years ago. I was Miss January. 🙂 Here is a link to it. The quilt has felted merino wool, patchwork piecing, applique, couching and quilting.
I finished the quilting yesterday. There are photos on several details below. I’m in the process of selecting beads and sequins to heavily embellish it. More to come on this piece.

Blow, blow thou winter wind,
Cheerio!

I’m looking at all those sparklies and drooling, lol. Looking forward to seeing the completed quilt!
I should get it started soon!
