The Kansas City divided by the great Missouri river.  On one side of the river is the state of Kansas; the other side is Missouri. Shawnee Mission, Westwood, the Plaza, Lenexa, North Kansas City, Parkville, Liberty, Overland Park, Leawood, Blue Springs, Independence, Lee’s Summit, Olathe…the geographic division also fosters a variety of diverse cultures and communities across the metro area.    These small studies concentrate on quilting techniques and the river’s relationship with the land and sky as well as community terminology for rivers and celebrations.
