Moonstone

“Art and religion (they are the same thing, in the end, of course) have given man the only happiness  he has ever had.” –Willa Cather

Moonstone, named for its semblance in color to the moon, is commonly found throughout the world in countries such as Kenya, South Africa, Brazil, the USA, Canada, Norway, the Soviet Union, Sri Lanka, Burma, and Madagascar.

Early Romans thought moonstone was formed out of moonlight. In India, moonstone is still a sacred gem. East Indian tradition holds moonstone is a symbol of the Third Eye and clarifies spiritual understanding. For thousands of years moonstone, a form of feldspar, has been used in conjunction with the phases of the moon for divination.

The Moonstone Series explores a spiritual journey for understanding across a variety of cultural beliefs, religions and experiences.
